The 2017 Z Club’s Season of Sharing Drive has arrived! As always, our efforts would not be possible without the generous support from our student body, faculty and staff, parents, and MSM community. Z Club truly appreciates how the spirit of Thanksgiving and compassion is always present in our school community. All of us are extremely blessed to be here at the Mount. We strongly believe giving back to our friends and neighbors in the Western New York community is a perfect way to say thank you to God for all He has done for us. This year, we are donating to St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy, St. Francis of Tonawanda, and refugee groups in Western New York and southern Ontario.
Our Thanksgiving food drive will be held November 6-20. To kick off our drive, we will have a homeroom activity on November 13 in which we are asking students to bring in three of their favorite items of Thanksgiving food as a nice way to personalize our efforts. Throughout the rest of the drive, for every 10 items students bring in, they will receive one raffle ticket. A variety of prizes offered include gift cards to the Regal or AMC Cinema, Panera, Tim Hortons, Tony Walker, and dress down day passes. There will be a homeroom bracket competition this year called Mount Madness. The winning homeroom will win a breakfast meal of their choosing.
Additionally, empty bottles will be collected and returned for the cash deposit to buy more food items. Our Christmas food drive and Advent Shoe Box Project will run from December 6-20 and we will visit homerooms with more information after Thanksgiving break. Z Club members will also be working at the MSM Christmas Tea (December 11), Christmas Craft Show (December 3), School Musical (November 10-12), and an evening drop off collection and basketball game (December 19) to collect donations.
