Athletic Signing

Three Mount St. Mary Academy seniors signed National Letters of Intent to compete in the 2015-16 collegiate seasons on Thursday, November 17.

As a four year Varsity swimmer for the MSM Thunder, Alexis Fredricks holds the Monsignor Martin League Record for the 100y Backstroke (58.30) and the All-Catholic Record for the 200y IM (2:10.99). She and her relay teammates hold the All-Catholic and Monsignor Martin League Record for the 200y Freestyle and the All-Catholic record for the 200y Medley. Fredricks is the 2014 and 2015 All-Catholic Meet MVP Natalie Lewis Award winner.  She has received a full athletic scholarship and will be swimming at Central Connecticut State University, a division I program.

Grace Fredricks has been an integral part of the MSM Thunder swim team throughout her four years at the Mount. She received All-Catholic honors in 2014 for the 200y Individual Medley, 100y Backstroke, 200y Medley Relay and 200y Freestyle Relay. She is a Super 7 Athlete and holds the MSM school record for the 100y Breaststroke. She will be swimming at Central Connecticut State University.

Kimberly Fohrd has run with Mount St. Mary Academy’s Cross Country and Track teams for three years, previously racing for Holy Angels Academy. She has received 1st Team All-Catholic honors in Cross Country in 2013, 2014 and 2015. She was also selected for 2nd Team All-Catholic in Track for the 4x800m relay and the 800m, in which she holds the Monsignor Martin League and MSM record (2:11). Kim has been honored as a #1 Super 7 Athlete, and was the MML Cross Country MVP in 2013 and 2014. Kim is accepting an athletic scholarship to run at Xavier University, a division I program.

“Lexi, Grace and Kim have contributed their skills, spirit and leadership to Mount St. Mary Academy’s athletic program,” said Dawn Riggie, Mount St. Mary Academy Principal. “We know both of these girls have the dedication and the talents to rise to the challenge of collegiate athletics.”

All three students will be competing in the NYS Federation championships this weekend.
