IMG_2621Two Mount St. Mary Academy seniors signed National Letters of Intent to compete in the 2015-16 collegiate seasons on Thursday, April 23.

As a four year Varsity starter for the MSM Thunder and team co-captain, Olivia Macdonald has scored 25 goals and 5 assists this season, and 88 goals in her career. She was selected for the All-Catholic team in the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Macdonald has received a partial academic scholarship and will be playing lacrosse at St. Bonaventure University, a Division I Women’s Lacrosse Program.

Catherine Meegan serves as team co-captain for the MSM Thunder varsity team. This season she has scored 13 goals and 10 assists and 75 goals in her career. She was selected for the All-Catholic team in the 2013 and 2014 seasons.  She will play lacrosse for Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania, a division II program and is currently ranked in the top 10 in the nation.

“Olivia and Catie have contributed their skills, spirit and leadership to Mount St. Mary Academy’s athletic program,” said Dawn Riggie, Mount St. Mary Academy Principal. “We know both of these girls have the dedication and the talents to rise to the challenge of collegiate athletics.”

The two students will be receiving their diplomas on May 31 at Mount St. Mary Academy’s graduation ceremony.
