Mamma Mia! is a jukebox musical written by Catherine Johnson, based on songs of ABBA composed by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. It was first performed in April of 1999. The show follows the story of a fiercely independent mother-daughter duo who, helped by their steadfast friends, go on a journey of self-discovery, making new relationships and mending old ones along the way.
