Students in the MSM Academy Scholars program spent part of the Columbus Day weekend visiting colleges in the Pittsburgh area. The goal was to expose the students to multiple highly regarded colleges, with the hope that if they are or become interested in pursuing those schools, they can conduct further visits and research with their parents.
Led by Academy Scholars teacher Mr. Tim O’Shei and Mrs. Julie Wojick, Assistant Principal for Institutional Advancement, students visited the campuses of Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh, Chatham University and Slippery Rock University. They had tours and presentations to learn of each school’s admissions requirements and academic strengths.
Another highlight of the trip included visits with MSM alumnae currently attending these colleges.
