Recognizing the importance of educating young women for the 21st century, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) is a major emphasis at MSM. Our Science, Technology and Mathematics departments provide the building blocks for problem solving and analytical thinking that is further explored in our STEAM initiative.

The Science department aims to awaken each student to the world around her (and beyond) based on the Scientific Method approach. This begins with questioning what may not always make sense and continues with striving for an answer. The Science department relates the different aspects of each science to everyday life by either showing examples, reading articles, or talking about where one would find these uses. Concepts are presented and reviewed for ultimate success on the state exams, but students are engaged in these concepts in a variety of hands-on experiences throughout their science careers.
