Every year, Mount St. Mary Academy recognizes three individuals who have shown themselves to be outstanding leaders in the school and community, as well as ambassadors of the school’s spirit. The awards are presented at our annual Alumnae Mass, which will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018.
Alumna of the Year
The MSM Alumnae Board recognizes an alumna for her service to others in her community. This individual should serve as an example to others of the true Mount St. Mary spirit. Some qualities that should be considered are integrity, acceptance of and service to others, commitment and dedication.
The Sophia Award
Recognizing wisdom and ingenuity, the Sophia Award is given to a graduate who has achieved success in her chosen profession. In selecting this recipient, the administration looks for an alumna whose hard work and perseverance can inspire our young students.
Academic excellence has been a continuing characteristic of Mount St. Mary Academy because of the many talented teachers who have graced our halls. The Distinguished Educator Award is bestowed upon a former MSM teacher whose teaching style and commitment to scholarship have enriched our students’ lives.
